Welcome to the Southeast Area page of the NAEOP website!

Southeast Area congratulates Dr. Rex Gandy (MS) as the 2009-2010 NAEOP Educational Administrator of the Year and Miriam “Mimi” Pike, CEOE (KY), Olive T. Ritchie Educational Office Professional of the Year! Southeast was recognized as having the third largest Area in membership during the NAEOP 75th Diamond Anniversary Conference held in Bloomington, Minnesota July 20-24, 2009.

Our Area is well represented on the NAEOP Board. Pam Posey, CEOE, is currently serving as President and Linda C. Tribble, CEOE, as Immediate Past President. Other members serving on the national board are Ruby B. Allen, CEOE, Honorary Presidential Advisor/Past NAEOP President; Connie Bergeson, CEOE, Historian/Presidential Advisor/Past NAEOP President; Melissa Carpenter, CEOE, Southeast Area Director; Vivian Valentine Fulton, Honorary Presidential Advisor/Past NAEOP President; Dr. Rex Gandy, Honorary Educational Consultant; Patricia A. Huggins, CEOE, Honorary Presidential Advisor/Past NAEOP President; Elizabeth McFall, Administrative Council Chairman; Geraldine “Boots” Owens, CEOE, Presidential Advisor/Past NAEOP President; and Mary Sumrall, CEOE, Presidential Aide.

We have several members that were elected to serve on national committees as well. During general session the following Southeast Area members were elected to serve on committees: Tijuana Griffin (MS), Awards Committee; Pam Lehnen, CEOE (AR), Bylaws Committee; Elizabeth McFall (TN), Professional Development Committee; Linda Jones, CEOE (AR), Scholarship Committee; and Tina Griffin (MS) as an alternate on the Nomination and Elections Committee. Malinda Larey, CEOE (AR) was elected at Advisory Council to serve on the Nomination and Elections Committee.

Southeast Area rotates between states hosting our annual professional development seminar each year. Each state takes turns in responsibilities and assignments such as attendance/host, certificates, door prize coordination, evaluations, name badges and Ways and Means. Our Area is looking forward to hosting a National Institute in the near future.

President Pam Posey’s theme, “Shining Brightly, Touching Lives Around the World” encourages each of us to promote the four points of our national association—Information, Recognition, Service and Fellowship when speaking to others. If you are a new member, take time to explore the NAEOP website and find out the many benefits they offer to you in your professional growth and development. As a member of the Southeast Area, you will receive at least four newsletters and updates from the national office. As an active member in NAEOP, you will benefit from networking with others across the states.

Join Southeast Area members during the Professional Development Seminar in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at the Sheraton, March 19-21, 2010, and the NAEOP Annual Conference July 5-9, 2010, at The Westin Crown Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
