Marching
to the Beat of a Different Drummer: We have all heard
music is the universal language. Why? Music is a form of communication.
So, what melody/music do you communicate to others? Are you
a jazz, rhythm & blues, hard rock, or an easy listener
office professional? You will discover your “beat”
as we explore how to best communicate that “beat”
through our actions and attitudes.
Explore Your Talents and Let Your Light Shine:
It doesn't matter whether we have been in a dozen different
office settings or worked for 30 plus years, we can all improve
our skills, our attitudes, our work habits, and our communication
skills. We also want to continue to explore the opportunities
available to educational office professionals. This workshop
is for the "beginning" educational office professional
as well as the "seasoned" educational office professional.
Living in a Fast-Paced World: Are you constantly
trying to find time in your day to get all your tasks done?
Are you achieving your goals? Is your life balanced? Are you
just too stressed at the end of the day? This workshop will
focus on how to plan and organize your day and include goal
setting techniques and ways to reduce stress.
How SMART Are You? Whether you are the
team leader or a member of the team, everyone must learn to
work together to accomplish the goals set for the task. As
the group/team leader, do you have the support of the team?
As a member of the group/team, are you pledging your full
support? At this workshop you will participate in exploring
ways to emphasize your own leadership characteristics, discuss
ways to motivate others, and review ways to run efficient
meetings.
Other workshops include Establishing Your Upward Mobility,
Membership Revitalization, Professional Standards Program,
and Telephone Etiquette/Email Etiquette/Customer Service.

potential employers and perhaps your boss, convey the correct
message? Do you ramble, say too much or not enough? Any time
spent on making our email clearer is time well spent! Basic
etiquette topics to be discussed will include addresses and
personal names, subject lines, message content, signatures,
replies and email courtesy. |

When
Generations Collide: Secretaries work with all generations
of people from students who were born in this decade to parents,

Be
All You Can Be: To each of us, a life has been given,
and with it, an awesome and priceless responsibility –
the freedom to choose how we live in the world and what we
make of ourselves and our lives. When we live in virtue, we
offer a tremendous contribution to the world, no matter how
small we may think our sphere of influence. A single flame
can light the greatest fire. I will give you a tool that can
offer guidance in a relationship or during challenging times,
help clarify your direction or focus and think about yourself
in a different way. This workshop will allow you to awaken
your spirit and explore your potential.
Hey! We’re Different But the Same! What does
diversity mean to you? Are all men created equal?
Join us on a journey into diversity and stereotyping. Can
we turn differences into strengths? See how diverseness can
bring a group closer and help create teamwork. We all have
something to bring to the table; we just need to know how
to use that creativity within us to our best advantage. Would
you be offended if someone wished you “Merry Christmas”
and you belonged to the Jewish faith? Do you feel out of place
in some instances because of your age? How about off-colored
jokes? Do they make you feel uncomfortable? Are there things
you’d like to tell about yourself but fear you will
not be accepted if others know? How does peer pressure in
the school affect each individual?

“CHECK
YOUR BAGS AT THE DOOR”: This workshop deals
with the baggage educational office professionals deal with
every day on the job and teaches how to become the ultimate
professional. The curriculum deals with packing our right
“Attitude” suitcase to get a winner’s perspective
and set our tone for how we deal with others, taking a look
at our “Excess Baggage”, and examining our “Personal
Carry-On”, where we work to find the balance between
work and family. In conclusion we claim the suitcase called
“SUCCESS” remembering that today is a new past
for tomorrow, and today and everyday is the right time to
start fresh and redefining our lives.
